From Research to a SaaS Platform
Convit was founded in 2015 as a spin-off from Fraunhofer IAIS. The initial focus was on data-driven solutions across various industries. At the core was AI-powered software that turned unstructured information into actionable data — helping organizations unlock and use complex data landscapes.
In 2022, Convit made a clear shift. Instead of developing custom projects for multiple industries, the company focused its technology on a single audience: the media sector. Editorial teams often have their data and content scattered across folders, fragmented tools and silos. This is exactly where the new direction began.
SaaS for media organizations
This step marked the beginning of Convit’s evolution into a SaaS platform. With Newsmind Stories and Newsmind Spectrum, the company developed solutions tailored to the needs of modern newsrooms. Machine learning and big data remain at the core, but the focus today is on efficient collaboration and AI-powered workflows.
Since then, Convit has been growing steadily — expanding its products, technology, team, customer base, and, this year, its office space.
