Artificial intelligence opens up a wide range of possibilities for content teams and newsrooms – from summarizing content and generating posts to text-to-speech and AI-generated audio pieces. But having access to these tools doesn’t always mean they’re easy to use or bring the expected efficiency. The challenge lies in choosing the right tools, identifying relevant use cases, and navigating internal guidelines. Which tools are safe for editorial use? What kind of prompt yields the best results? And how can teams avoid the growing complexity of AI tools?
Integrate tried-and-tested AI functions
To help newsrooms work more efficiently with AI without constantly switching between platforms, we’ve already embedded a wide range of AI features directly into our editorial system, Newsmind Stories. Now, we’re taking the next step with custom AI functions and the launch of our AI Self-Service.
The AI Self Service gives administrators the opportunity to implement customized AI functions directly in Newsmind Stories and thus design specific workflows with AI for their teams. It brings AI exactly where it’s needed – into the day-to-day workflows of editorial teams.
Custom AI workflows in just a few clicks
Admins can store individual AI functions in the entire application and thus configure themselves for which workflows in the editorial system a specific AI function should appear. For example, a function for shortening texts can be created for the “Summary” field, with a prompt that sets the context for content generation.
By introducing these functions, we are giving editorial teams the opportunity to integrate innovative workflows directly into their day-to-day work and quickly test and roll out new AI use cases – without tool overload. With direct access via the editorial system, media houses can avoid tool research and chaos and support their teams in working even more efficiently and freeing up time for creative work.
