From September 15 to 18, IBC took place in Amsterdam – the International Broadcasting Convention, one of the events of the year for the entire broadcast and media industry. Convit was also on site with its own exhibition booth to engage in discussions in line with the motto “Transforming Media. Changing Perceptions“.

AI meets the broadcasting scene

IBC is the meeting point for the media, entertainment and technology industries. Alongside trends and technologies, numerous suppliers are presenting their new products to the international audience. But it’s not just about sales: the event is also an opportunity for networking and learning. This includes the Innovation Stage, the Showcase Theater, many panel discussions and the Social Impact Awards.

AI in the media industry was of course a major topic. Will the technology scale? What use cases already exist? Gaming and e-sports also had a strong focus at IBC 2023. As a result, AR coexisted alongside transmitter technology for radio, mixing the new and old worlds to cover all needs.

Newsmind Stories with new AI functions

At our booth in Hall 8, we showed how our Newsmind Stories editorial system improves editorial workflows for topic planning and distribution. For example, visitors could test with one click,

  • how to automatically create Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram posts and publish them directly on the platforms.
  • how to quickly summarize news and articles.
  • how to generate moderation scripts for audio from an existing text message.

What matters is how our system integrates AI into the day-to-day workflows of editorial teams. With Newsmind Stories, users can intuitively discover topics and trends, monitor media and turn their ideas directly into topics and stories. The AI supports both the monitoring of sources and the creation of content. Once the stories for online, television, radio and print are ready, they can be published directly from the software.

The new features were very popular with the industry: We had a busy four days at the conference and, in addition to our agreed appointments, visitors also came to our stand to find out about the possibilities and use cases of the software.

Bringing the future of media to life

For Convit, this was the first time we were there and were able to become part of this great community. New innovations and trends can be found across all halls. We felt that this was an event created by the industry for the industry on every day of the conference. One thing is for sure: We’ll be back and that’s why we’re already blocking our calendars for September 13-16, 2024 and #IBC2024.
